Spray Tan Preparation and Aftercare
A great spray tan starts with proper prep and lasts longer with the right aftercare. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure your Norvell Rapid tan develops evenly and fades beautifully.

Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment using a non-oil-based scrub or exfoliating mitt.
Shave or wax at least 24 hours before tanning to prevent uneven color.
Avoid applying lotions, deodorants, perfumes, or makeup on the day of your session.
Wear loose, dark clothing and open-toed shoes to your appointment.
If it’s raining, bring an umbrella and cover up — moisture can affect development.

Wait the recommended 1, 2, or 3 hours before your warm water rinse (light, medium, or dark). Do not use soap for your first rinse.
Avoid sweating, swimming, or showering before your rinse time.
After your first rinse, use only gentle, sulfate-free cleansers and avoid exfoliating for the first few days.
Pat skin dry instead of rubbing with a towel.
Moisturize daily with an oil-free lotion to maintain even color.
Avoid long baths, chlorine, and exfoliating products to help your tan fade evenly.
